How to wear it. Richer and warmer; best in autumn and winter, and in the evening. One spray at the base of the neck is enough. Lasts 8–10 hours on skin.
The bottle. Heavy clear-glass flacon with softly squared shoulders, a hand-glazed stoneware cap in deep aubergine and a letterpress paper label. The 10ml is a refillable travel spray with a matching glazed collar.
Product details
Sea coal still washes up along the Durham coast, and people still gather it. This is that shoreline in winter: pepper and bitter orange, a curl of smoke from lapsang tea, then soft suede.
The base of vetiver, labdanum and benzoin is warm rather than heavy, and lasts well into the evening.
